Preparation for Parenting
Class for expecting parents.
Preparation for Parenting (Along the Infant Way) DVD series is the first of a six part series that has gained national and international recognition for its immensely sensible approach to parenting a newborn. Coming with the applause of over two million parents and twice as many babies worldwide, Preparation for Parenting provides a prescription for responsible parenting. The infant management plan offered by the Ezzos, successfully and naturally helps infants synchronize their feeding/waketime and nighttime sleep cycles. The results? You parent a happy, healthy and contented baby who will begin sleeping through the night on average between seven and nine weeks of age. Learning how to manage your newborn is the first critical step in teaching your child how to manage his life.

Babyhood Transitions Class
It is time to start preparing for the September class. This class will talk about solid food introduction, early discipline, wake time, nap, and refresh you on some things you may have forgotten. Remember you will start solids at 5-6 months so make sure you get signed up in time.
I need to know who is interested and which night would be best. Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday.
Monday- September 22, 29, October 6
Tuesday- September 23, 30, October (this is a busy day for the church, we will have small space and folding chairs)
Thursday- September 18, 25, October 2 ( this will have to be a week earlier) The Link Q and A session is October 9th!!!
I cannot do all of them but I will try to get as many people in as possible. If any night works for you let me know. That will help out a lot. The cost will be between 35-40$ depending on the new price of books and shipping. The class will be at Boones Creek but I am waiting to get the numbers before I choose the room. I am hoping for a downstairs room with SOFT chairs. Start thinking about childcare and remember this is important for both mom and dad so make it a date night if you have to.
Hope you are all doing well

New Blog
I am getting a long list of e-mails and I want to make sure I am getting the information to people who want it and not annoying the rest of you. This blog will contain updates on classes, children's activities, consignment sales, and general parenting information. Just subscribe to the blog to get updates. There are also links to the Nursing Nook and the new Nursing Nook Blog, that has new products and information on breastfeeding. I hope this will help us stay connected without my sending individual e-mails to everyone. I look forward to hearing from you. Sara
Hello Moms and Dads
The books we use have made a change that may be really helpful for those of us with kids needing to arrange childcare. The infant class is still 5 weeks long but I am going to try something new for the 3-6 month olds to help with feeding and introduction to solid foods. The new book is called Babyhood Transitions and is for 5- 12 month olds. It has a lot of information on introducing solids and so instruction on highchair behavior, sleeping, correction, and other discipline related topics. Here is the plan. Around 3-6 months (your baby's age) I will offer a 3 week class covering the "Babyhood Transitions" materials. I will then offer a Pre-Toddler/Toddler class lasting 3 weeks that will cover ages 12mo to 3 years. In this class we will talk about discipline, sleeping, wake-time, and the things we don't really talk a lot about in the Baby classes. This 3 week class will be a lot of questions/ answer discussion on things you are dealing with at that time. I think this will help break up the class so you are not having to get a sitter for 5 weeks in a row.
The cost for the Infant class is $55 and the Babyhood Transitions class will be $35. All the classes will still meet at Boones Creek Christian Church.I will begin offering the Toddler class for 12mo- to 3 years when I start getting more interest. I really think getting this information early will help you with the introduction of solids and discipline in your child's life. I look forward to seeing you all soon.
